Recycling HP Ink Cartridges

The cost of printer cartridges is simply staggering. It is so high, in fact, that some people have taken to purchasing new printers very cheaply with rebates and discounts, and simply throwing them away and buying new ones when the HP ink cartridge, for example, runs out. Unfortunately, to counteract this, many companies, such as HP for example, have started selling their printers with HP ink cartridges that are only roughly one third full. Many customers are not aware of this, though, and continue to waste their money and especially the EarthÂ’s natural resources by participating in this wasteful behavior.

Luckily, though, there is an alternative to this practice. It is actually a two step process, that can potentially save you well over fifty percent on your printer related spending. First, buy a printer with ink or toner cartridges that you know are recyclable. You can find this out by simply searching online and doing a bit of research.

Second, always recycle your used or spend printer cartridges. Not only is this the environmentally conscious thing to do, it can actually save you some money in the process. Many websites will actually pay you for your used or spent printer cartridges, who in turn refill or remanufacture them and then resell them to consumers. In fact, some printer cartridges can be worth over twenty dollars, although the payment you receive is usually directly correlated to how expensive the product is in the first place.

Finally, always buy recycled or remanufactured printer products. Buying these recycled, refilled, or otherwise remanufactured printer cartridges can save you up to fifty percent off of their new name brand counterparts. And there is no need to worry about performance, since these products are usually guaranteed to work as well or even better than new name brand cartridges.
